Here are a few pieces from within my life which play a certain role for me. Things that I see every day and that are somehow of importance to me. Less from the aspect of "look who I am", but rather from the point of view that they represent certain personal, non-monetarial value to me.

For instance, the house I live in stands for "feeling well, cosyness, certain freedom". The car I am driving is the place where I spend almost 2 hours a day - so it is important to me, even if not THAT representative (it is almost an oldtimer - at least the insurance guys say so - but there is good music inside). :-) Or take that cabinet further down: I bought it used from private and it was in a terrible state - I refurbished most of it myself (although I am not a real "handyman" and I don't really like that type of work) - that is the simple reason why I love it.

Have a look if you are interested. :-)

The place I live in

This is the semi-detached house I live in - since November 1994 after my return from Good ol' England where I lived for almost 4 years.

6 years is too long to live in one place you mean? Well, you are not completely wrong :-))  I have never before lived more than 5 years in one place. Sounds like time for a change? Who knows - may be there is change already around the corner.... Ya never know! :-)

Have a look at the window in the roof - that is the master bathroom from which you also have a nice view in Autumn. :-)

The entrance to my place - guess who is looking?

Move closer and have a look who is peeking out there! You might guess it - if not, have a look at the enlarged image or go to the "My Family" section. There you see those faces in larger. :-)

The famous wooden cupboard..... :-)

This wooden cabinet I love very much. Why? Enlarge the image and read for yourself. :-) It is quite an embarrassing story from my point of view. But it was worth the wait I think. It is old, though not really antique, but nice to look at.

Can you imagine that someone can have the idea to paint this cabinet in a normal dark blue? Not even furniture-type color, just an ordinary dark blue? When I collected the cabinet from the previous owners I could still see the rests of that painting - it looked dreadful.

My car - the oldtimer....

Where I am spending my time? Quite some time I spend in my car - almost 2 hours a day. :-( There are so many traffic jams around Cologne (and not only due to road works!) - you would hardly believe it. :-( So it takes quite some time to get into work every day.... Not that you mean, I work in the fields..... this image was taken coincidentally on my way back from a business trip - when I had a little break. :-)

A peek out of the master bathroom window in Autumn...

Take a look out of the master bathroom window (see above) in Autumn - it is still a green area here, rather rural. And Autumn brings the leafes to an exciting yellow-orange glow - it is really very nice to see.

At the same time you can hear the little creek (Mill Creek = Muehlenbach) which bypasses our house. And you get a glance of the roof of the very old mill house, an impressive and representative building nowadays.

My personal Internet Cafe....

I must be a very lucky guy - I have my own Internet Cafe nowadays. :-) No, just joking. This sign is to be found in my office - it was made for some internal presentations and since then has always pointed visitors into my direction.

This is it for the time being - no ore images in this section! :-) Would you really like more? Let me know....
